UIDAI lets those who have Aadhaar cardsto change their address without the need for documents. Aadhaar card holders were able to change their address, even if they didn't provide an identity proof.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily halted a vital facility which lets you change your Aadhaar card's address without identity proof.

UIDAI allows people with Aadhaar cards to change their address without requiring any paperwork. Aadhaar cardholders are able to change their address if they have consented to the verification to the identity verifier. A verifier of address could be a relative, friend or landlord who can allow the Aadhaar card user to use their address to prove their identity.

UIDAI has stopped the feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card owner via Twitter, stating that the option to update address on the Aadhaar Card by submitting an Address Validation Letter has been discontinued. UIDAI has asked the Aadhaar Issuers to inform users that they have the option to update their address by using another current PoA document.

Dear Residents Dear Resident: The addresses Validation Letter service has been taken off until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
